Kelly Edwards begins his first year as principal at Roopville Elementary School. Before this year, Mr. Edwards was the assistant principal at Central High and Villa Rica High. Prior to entering administration Mr. Edwards taught special education at Central High for ten years. Mr. Edwards served as a football, baseball, and softball coach while teaching at Central High.
Mr. Edwards was a Roopville Hornet from the 2nd grade through 8th grade. He is a 1997 graduate of Central High. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of West Georgia, his masters in educational leadership from Jacksonville State University, and his specialist degree in educational leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.
Mr. Edwards is married to Allison Edwards who is an ELA teacher at Central Middle school. They have two children, Allie Grace Edwards, a 7th grader at Central Middle, and Beau who is a 4th grader at Roopville Elementary.
